Is a gas or wood-burning fire pit better for my property?
The choice depends on your priority. Gas features offer immediate convenience, smokeless operation, and can be installed on decks or closer to structures. Wood-burning pits provide higher heat output and the traditional sensory experience (scent and sound), but require wood storage and manual cleanup of ash.
Can I install a fire pit on an existing patio?
Yes, but it depends on the material. Natural stone and concrete pavers are excellent foundations. However, a wood-burning fire pit should never be placed directly on a wooden or composite deck without a dedicated heat-shielding base or a masonry "pad" to prevent heat transfer.
